Year-round except in November, on the second Saturday of each month, Crescent “facilitates” (one of her least favorite verbs) an on-going works-in-progress group at her home in Westminster West, Vermont. The majority of the participants are novelists or memoirists. It is not a workshop as such, but a critique/discussion group.
Participants must live somewhere geographically feasible (in other words, within an hour or two’s drive of Crescent’s home), and have an ongoing commitment to both their writing practice and a particular project (or couple of projects).
There is no charge for attending 2nd Saturday the first time. Writers can get a feeling for how the group works, and are expected to make comments on others’ work… but they do not, themselves, read that first time. Assuming it’s a good fit, writers join the following month (second time attending) as full participants: bringing work to read aloud for the group to listen to and discuss. The cost: $25 for full participants.
Since the setting is intimate and the group small, and since this is an ongoing group, please start by reading the guidelines below, then emailing crescent: firstname.lastname@example.org. with the words “2nd Saturday” in the subject line.
(Every three or four months, 2nd Saturday extends into an optional potluck dinner, frequently followed by improv/InterPlay, facilitated by Judith Reichsman. If you choose to stay for Interplay, there is a $15 fee, to Judith.)
