You’re Invited to Our Upcoming Class:
Self-Compassion 101
An exuberant, affordable 90-minute session workshop with Crescent Dragonwagon on
Why We Need Self-Compassion
Is self-love selfish? No. It’s becoming more lovable. Love and able: able to give and receive love.
Loving starts and ends with loving yourself. You can’t give something away to others if you don’t have it! Want to love others? Start by showing yourself compassion. Yourself as you are, including all the snarky shadow parts you may wish were not there.
Then watch the gorgeous transformative relaxation and ease self-love brings to life.
Self-compassion is simple (though, at first especially, not easy; few of us learned the skills and mindset it requires).
In our present world, soul-sucking insecurity, self-doubt, and a sense that one’s doing it wrong and is just not good enough –these feelings are near-universal (though most of us hide this).
With social media, in which many people “Fakebook” a gorgeously propped, Photoshop-perfect life (face and body, vacations, homes, adventures, etc) and where everyone can see just how many followers or friends you do or don’t have, this emotional and psychological pandemic is an every-day superspreader of toxic comparison.
But this whole thing can be changed. We can stop participating.
No matter what events or circumstances got you to self-loathing. No matter how you look or how old or screwed up you are, or think you are.
No matter how lacking you think you are compared to others.
It starts with becoming aware of what you are broadcasting to yourself.
What happens when you turn off Radio Station KRAP — ?
— that infernal internal eternal inner broadcast telling you all the reasons you are unworthy?
Remove the relentless self-critical nastiness you (like so many people) subject yourself to, and replace it with kindness, intelligence, understanding, insight: self-compassion and…
So much energy is freed up!
Without constant self-negation, joy, self-knowledge, ease and the seeds of almost every good thing germinate and begin growing.
In this uplift of a 90-minute workshop with Crescent Dragonwagon, you’ll discover a generous, flexible, satisfying, practical and tool-rich approach of working with, and loving, yourself, just as you are.
Which, in turn, leads to feeling much happier and more at ease in your life, relationships, creativity and work; leads to more productivity and fun, no matter what phase of life you’re in, and no matter your outer circumstances.
WHAT:
In just 90 minutes of Self-Compassion 101, you’ll dramatically improve your capacity to:
- turn off the inner voice that says, “You suck; you’re too old, too young, too fat, too inexperienced…”
- extend to yourself the compassion, understanding, and benefit-of-the-doubt behavior we typically reserve for friends and family ;
- transform self-doubt into understanding;
- quit worrying about what other people think and whether or not they like you;
- interrupt habitual fear and what-iffing; create a trampoline of courage and resilience;
- become self-validating (not in need of other people, places, things and achievements-validation);
- see and appreciate your own goodness, goofiness, worth and uniqueness — your “youness”;
- understand your physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs, and make meeting ’em your best DIY project ever (no more waiting for other people to do it for you);
- find, and listen to, your deepest callings – no matter how audacious; as you change insecurity into loving self-confidence;
- do what you long to do (instead of letting others’ needs, opinions, schedules override yours);
- feel less chaotic, bewildered, helpless;
- align your goals, dreams and longings with what you’re doing to get there; transform denial into clear-sightedness, self-punishment into wise, discerning permission.
Grow self-compassion, and watch it spill over, cornucopia-like, into every other relationship and aspiration you have.
When & How:
Self-Compassion 101 will be offered February 12th at 2 pm central time/ 3 pm eastern time. (and on demand afterwards).
Register below. Your Paypal confirmation serves as your receipt. A Zoom link will be sent to you on the day of our session, about 30 minutes before.
Don’t put off growing some self-compassion another minute.
For whom?
Anyone who is hard-on, and not at ease with, herself /himself/ their-self will benefit from Self-Compassion 101.
You’re not alone. An awful lot of us struggle with this. Although these patterns of self-dislike make us feel very isolated (that is part of their peculiar power, and part of what we’ll undo in session). If you:
- feel that if you showed who and what you really are, you would be unacceptable, disliked, fired;
- chronically feel different or other, and because of this in some way inferior, excluded or shy;
- are in transition, and struggling to redefine yourself (new parents; the newly widowed; those who’ve been fired or divorced or have had to declare bankruptcy; have recently had a scary diagnosis; the aging, the recently graduated, or the newly gender-transitioned);
- perceive yourself as chronically judged and underestimated on the basis something “outer” (too big, of a particular skin color, visibly sexual ambiguous, identifiably of a certain religion, economic class, or ethnicity, too old, too weird, inferior because you use assistive devices, even – strangely – too pretty!);
- stay in miserable relationships because you’re convinced that you couldn’t do any better
- are in a profession which rests on being accepted or rejected: writers and artists, self-employed creatives and gig-economy workers, performers
- have a hard time with procrastination, low energy, getting off track (often symptoms of compulsive but barely-noticed self-criticism/ KRAP)
… then, this workshop is for you.
How Much:
This workshop is priced as a suggested price of $45.00 to 75.00 but is a pay as you can class.
Crescent’s typical workshop registration fee is $150.00, so this is good news bargain for these difficult times… her wish is to get this out there and offer practical support for these challenging, everything-is-a-blur, times.
