LEFT-BRAIN PLANNING FOR RIGHT-BRAIN PEOPLE  2022

MONDAY, DECEMBER 28 – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2020, 2:30 to 5:30 pm CST

Especially for creatives and the self-employed, as well as those in transition (new parents, the newly retired), this two-part workshop is a major game-changer for anyone who struggles with procrastination, low energy, getting off track, meeting deadlines, getting bills paid on time, and transforming good ideas into reality.

Flexible, designed to make you cheerfully mega-productive, LBP will concretely, practically help you nail down your goals and what you’re doing to get there — both in whole-life terms and in the next 15 minutes.

  • Two three-hour sessions on two consecutive days
  •  A generous, satisfying method of working with time, in time and on time.
  • The best possible use of that weird interval between Christmas-and-New-Years, during which, in Covid times, lots of us might otherwise be climbing the walls.Crescent says:

“This is my own self-developed planning / “time management” approach and system. (I used the quote marks because I don’t think one “manages” time as much as one works with it respectfully and wisely). I have been consciously working on and with various methods of time-use and planning since my twenties, and this is the winning iteration, one  that has worked for me for the past 15 years.

“Hey: I am almost 68, have 50 published books out, by most measures have led a productive life, and have been self-employed and in charge of my own hours my whole life. Left Brain Planning is applied strategic relentless incrementalism, and honey, it works.”

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9th, 2:00 PM CENTRAL: SELF-LOVE 101, a Valentine’s Edition of “How Do You Love Your Days.” (online class): More information here. How do we love our days? How do we love other people? How do we find someone to love? Can we become more lovable — that is, able to love? It starts with getting on good terms with the one person who (for better and for worse) is with us until death do us part: ourself. Dismantle the voice telling us we’re too fat, too young, too old, too inexperienced, too overqualified, too audacious, too timid, too demanding, too passive… Let’s take off  our “too-toos” and show some affection to the imperfect but gorgeous, smart, funny and lovable selves we are. In this class we’ll cultivate self-care, self-acceptance, self-respect, starting with access to a pre-teach video, yours  immediately after purchase (watch as many times as you like), and continuing with a live video followed by q-and-a.  Self-Love 101 is a rollicking, soul-soothing class and discussion… a valentine to send yourself.

On the first Wednesday of each month, story-hungry audiences gather in a local coffee-and-craft-beer pub to listen attentively as three readers offer original “home-grown tales”, most in and around or about the Ozark Mountains. The brainchild of artist Zeek Tayler and producer Sandra Spotts, this live storytelling show features true stories written and told by the Southerners who lived them, with a seasoning of music by a local singer-songwriter provide music. Recorded by K-fresh radio and airing at a later date, admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Crescent is no stranger to telling stories on the air, as this 2012 photograph by David Koff shows.

Crescent will join Zeek and  Sandra on the December show, with an original non-Christmas holiday story she’s written just for this event.

How does a tale which begins in Brooklyn in the 1900s travel through Prohibition and end in the Ozark Mountains? Do chronic outsiders ever fit in? And what on earth is Marilyn Monroe doing in here? Come find out!

Here, a busy mother and her just-a-bit naughty little girl tease each other affectionately — the little girl making her point without even uttering a word. That's today's story time — read aloud by the author's daughter at Crescent Dragonwagon's Writing, Cooking, & Workshops, with Mark Graff's "text support" and discussion."Just right for two-to-fours, the humor of this true-to-life story of a mischievous little girl who blocks her mother's attempts to clean house will elicit giggles from the lollipop set."
